Alumni Association Efforts Engage Students Before They Become Alumni
For an Alumni Association, we sure spend a lot of time focusing on students! That’s because we know we will be counting on these students to become the loyal, proud, and engaged alumni of the very near future!
The 1964 Society is a student organization that forges relationships between current CSU students and alumni to enhance the student experience and strengthen lifelong loyalty to the University. Nearly 700 students attended 1964 Society events we hosted during 2015-16.
Another 145 students and alumni attended four Almost Alumni Dinners and nearly 20 other “pre-alumni” events drew more than 2,000 participants (1,000 came to our Magnusfest celebration alone). More than 190 students took part in the Senior Series lectures on topics ranging from dinner etiquette to using LinkedIn to best advantage.
We also threw a philanthropy awareness day for students, Tomorrow Made Possible, at which 188 students signed a thank you wall for donors.
And we wrapped up the academic year in style by welcoming some 500 people to Mather Mansion for a celebration for graduating students and their families that featured a cookout, volleyball, corn hole, DJ, dancing and a sketch artist who created “selfies” the old fashioned way! It was a sweet send-off for our newest alumni!
