If you know of someone who would be a great young alumni representative, please fill out the nomination form below
The Young Alumni Council (YAC) was established to create and support programs and services for recent graduates and current students. Its members are 35 years old or younger and are dedicated to serving CSU through volunteerism and philanthropy. Apply today or consider nominating a recent graduate!
Among other duties, YAC members communicate the interests and needs of their peers; develop, organize and lead social, educational and networking events for recent graduates and current students; and support the CSU Annual Fund each fiscal year. For instance, in February, YAC brought in Kathleen Miracle for a Lunch and Learn lecture about building your personal brand. Grads who work downtown popped in for a very informative (and free) lunch and another good opportunity to network. Watch a video of the lecture here.
Last year, the YAC sponsored the Golden Apple Faculty/Staff Awards Luncheon, at which it honored outstanding faculty and staff members nominated by recent graduates. Seventy-five alumni participated with 26 faculty and staff being honored for their work.
Ten members of YAC supported Make A Difference Day in October. 545 young alumni attended the Almost Alumni Dinners, 5 Under 35 event, and Graduation Party. The YAC also held three Viking Night Out functions attracting more than 100 recent/young CSU grads. Young alumni also supported several Engage! Cleveland YP events including the December MIX and June YP Week–with over 2300 attending!
